If you have completed an Australian Year 10, Year 11 or Year 12 qualification in Australia or in another country, or have completed senior secondary/tertiary studies in one of the following countries in English, you are not required to present proof of English proficiency.

If you completed an Australian Year 12 qualification in Australia or in another country, or you completed senior secondary/tertiary studies in one of the following countries in English, proof of English is not required; Canada, Papua New Guinea, USA, England, Northern Ireland, Wales, Fiji, Scotland, Western Samoa, Ireland, Singapore, Zambia, Kenya, Solomon Islands, New Zealand, South Africa.

All other applicants must provide proof of English proficiency. Please note also that in exceptional circumstances we may require further proof of English language proficiency other than those listed here.

1) IELTS 5.5

2) TOEFL 500

1) IELTS (International English Language Testing Scheme) - score of 5.5 with no band below 5.0

2) TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) - score of 500, with a TWE (Test of Written English) score of 4.0

3) CBT (computer-based TOEFL) - 210 with an Essay Rating of 4.0

1. No further proof of English Language is required if all subjects were taught in English.
Other acceptable IB proofs are:
2. Group 1 Language A1 English pass at either Higher or Standard Level
3. Group 2 Language A2 English pass at either Higher or Standard Level
4. Language B English at Higher Level with a Grade of 4 or more
5. Language B English at Standard Level with a Grade of 5 or more

English Studies

In order to receive an offer of acceptance to ASTHM. For students who do not meet the required level of English as indicated above, the Australian School of Tourism and Hotel Management will arrange enrolment into a suitable intensive English program at Eurocentres Perth.

2) TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) - 550 (minimum 4.5 in Test of Written English), or

3) 213 (Computer Based Score - minimum 4.5 Essay rating), or

4) CCPE C Pass, or

5) General English Advanced Board
